South Cone is one of the leading manufacturers of fine furniture offering an extensive catalog of eclectic collections that range from contemporary to traditional to Spanish furniture.
Employing only the finest materials and craftsmanship techniques to its own designs, South Cone has developed a reputation for being one of the finest, most original furniture companies in America.
Founded 21 years ago, South Cone began with a vision to bring the beauty of traditional handcrafts from
South America to the United States. From that simple vision, the company has grown from selling small hand crafted mirrors to crafting and selling its own line of eco-friendly certified wood furniture products to exclusive customers across the United States, Canada and Europe. One can find South Cone products in a boutique in Vancouver, a five star hotel in Telluride, Colorado, a furniture store in Athens or a Spa in Iceland.
Our factory in Peru was founded in 1991. In less than five years, it became Peru’s largest furniture maker, being responsible for 75% of all furniture exports. Our factory is capable of producing twenty large containers of the highest quality furniture available in the market place.
In 2001, when very few companies in the furniture industry were thinking about global warming, South Cone invested a large amount of resources and time in obtaining FSC certification for our factory in Peru and our distribution center in the United States. From that year until today, South Cone has become the world leader in sustainable furniture and wood management practices. We are active members of the Sustainable Furniture Council (sustainablefurniturecouncil.org) and one of only three companies in the world to have silver exemplary status from this prestigious organization.
But South Cone has not only made a commitment to the environment but also to social responsibility. Our entire labor force of over three hundred skilful workers in Peru receives daily meals while at work and is fully supported by comprehensive health and pension benefits. In addition to this, our forest conservation efforts have reached also the people from the Amazons.
